Yes it is realy strange. I found a older Max Studio in my archive (7.9.08.07) but the same reaction.

I tryed again with the following approach:

1) delete the log file D:\.......

2) create the log file with C:\...

3) and I create the mirror with C:\

The result is not an error message and I could start with the recovery and the new database is online.

I will read a SAP ticket! I think this is not normal.
