Re: SAP system copy problem with the log file

Hello Christiane,

thank you for your answer.....

MARK check box initialize Database before Recovery

-> NEXT

Then choose the backup and change the configuration of the source system which is displayed to the target system. - here you can change the log file destination.

On the target system:

In my case I choose the "initialize Database" before Recovery and the MaxDB Studio viewed the following steps:

  • Parameters Initialization - I choose "Restore parameters from backup"
  • Next- Parameters from Backup - I choose the backup-file from the source System
  • Next ....preparing Parameters...
  • Adjust Parameters - I change "General Parameters"  from D:\sapdb\data\wrk\DEC to :\sapdb\data\wrk\NEW
  • > OK and > Next
  • Data Volumes  - I change all data volumes from D:\sapdb\DEC\sapdata\DISKD00xx to P:\sapdb\NEW\sapdata\DISKD00xx (with no problems)
  • Log Volumes
    I change log-files from D:\sapdb\DEC\saplog\DISKL001 to P:\sapdb\NEW\saplog\DISKL001
    I change mirror-file form D:\sapdb\DEC\mirrsaplog\M_DISKL001 to P:\sapdb\NEW\mirrsaplog\M_DISKL001
  • >OK - Message: Create P:\sapdb\NEW\saplog ? > OK
  • But now I get a message with following content

"-24892 the directory D:\sapdb\DEC\mirrsaplog does not exist"

Regards,

Richard
