I'm trying to install latest Maxdb (maxdb_all_win_64bit_x86_64_7_9_08_35) on a Windows 10 (64bit) machine. I know it is not supported but perhaps someone can help.
Installation process failes just at the beginning of step 6a (Install Software) without any error message (just a red cross, see attched screenshot).
In the installation logfile (attached) the only error is :ERR: Invalid value for type "string"
Can someone help?

Note 1657257 - MaxDB-specific system copy: wrong SYSDBA solved the issue
because of the db copy something went wrong.
I did the following
Set the password of the superdba user to the password specified in the system copy:
After copying ..system32/drivers/etc to syswow/drivers/ installation worked.

Thanks a lot. What about the location of the cache server? However the documents were copied to the cache server. We have two locations A and B. On location A the Content Server is installed. On location B the Cache Server is in purpose. Both servers are virtualized but the physical VMWare host is standing in the location A. Does the combination make sense? My understanding is that the Cache Server must be installed near to the location in which users are wokring with it.

Hi Veysel,
As the name "cache server", it is used for caching, so it should be near the working place.
If the two servers "cache server" and "content server" are physically in the same location, then it is not much helpful, but makes the scenario more complicated. For your case, you can just only use content server.

I am trying to restore a maxdb database from one server to another server using Windows Pipes.
I am following the steps exactly as per SAP note 489615. and after following the note.
1. I start the complete full database backup on the Primary system on the Pipe medium
2. Then I start the recovery on the Standby system --> during recovery I select "recovery with initialization".
But it gives me error on both primary and standby.

I am trying to run the following query but getting an error :

Error! wrong username or password!
Above query is coming from note 490325 -
I have checked the passwords of SAP<SID> and SUPERDBA by login to the dbmcli and it works.
Could you please let me know which password am i missing here.

The error means SAP<SID>'s password is incorrect.
What is the following result?
dbmcli -n <Host> -d <SID> -u SAP<SID>,<PWD> db_state
As mentioned in the note, you can refer to the xuser note to add the "w" via xuser command.

Thank you. I will install a cache server on ESX Server in location B. So the physical machine would be in location B. It means that the users from location B would benefit from the cache server.
But how it is processed when an user from location A, where the content server is installed, access or modify a document? I hope in that case no caching is used. Is that so?

Sorry I don't know the details about the implement of cache server, because cache server is almost topic for content server area, rather than maxdb.
If you are an SAP customer, you can raise ticket for component (BC-SRV-KPR).

Dear colleagues, Maybe a bit strange question, but it seems that I’m missing something. I want to install LiveCache server for test purposes on a box with SCM installed (NW 7.3 EHP1). According to Installation guide (Document Version: 1.9 – 2016-01-22) https://websmp110.sap-ag.de/~form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=01100035870000762217&_SCENARIO=01100035870000000202& In the installation part, 4.1 we can find about the installation: In the Welcome screen, choose the required installation option for your product and release to install the liveCache server or client: liveCache server Choose SAP Systems ->Standalone Engines->liveCache->liveCache Server. But Software Provisioning Manager (last version: SAPinst Version 2016.01.0, codeline: 720-2_REL, variant: optU (build: 1640756)) doesn’t have liveCache option (or I’m missing it somewhere down the lane) My steps: 1. SAP Enhancement Package 1 for SAP NetWeaver 7.3 2. MS SQL Server 3. SAP Systems 4. Standalone Engines – but there were just Gateway, Web Dispatcher and Idm Installation Options Where is LiveCache installation? I went through (almost all) suitable options. Thank you for the answer. What is the proposed solution now that the python libraries are no longer supported on MaxDB 7.9? The ability to execute a files ystem snapshot from a script is a key request from clients.

This does not look like a database issue, but an os related.
Please check if user can find item 'S-1-5-21-2730973744-2643559749-2824469016-1010' from windows registry. Or what is the actual key for user Pawan\nspadm.
