Thank you for reporting this issue - we were able to reproduce the error following your instructions.
We are working on this via "problem tracking number" PTS1251100 (you can track the progress at http://maxdb.sap.com/webpts).
A possible workaround would be:
1. Change Log mode from 'mirrored' to 'single'.
2. Create a backup and use it for your system copy
3. Switch log mode back to 'mirrored'.
